Product Overview:
The TransGo 48RE SHIFT KIT® Valve Body Repair Kit is designed for 2003 to 2008 Dodge and Ram vehicles equipped with the 48RE automatic transmission, whether powered by a gas or diesel engine. This kit addresses common issues such as TCC slip or shudder, 2nd gear band and direct clutch failure, as well as torque converter drain-back.

Features and Benefits:
This TransGo kit includes advanced valve body and internal components engineered to handle higher operating pressures. With a MAX main line pressure set to 115 psi in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear, and up to 160 psi in 4th gear or during lock-up, this kit significantly enhances the torque capacity of all friction elements, including the TCC clutch. These increased pressure specifications are ideal for heavy-duty work trucks and for towing tasks, like pulling a boat up a ramp. The kit ensures a smooth driving experience, maintaining OE RPM shift timing for optimal engine power. As a result, shifts are short, clean, and free of harshness or noise.

This kit also features innovative components, such as the line-to-converter feed system that helps the transmission run cooler and extends the life of the TCC clutch. Additionally, the included TransGo-pioneered manual valve reduces overnight delayed engagement in forward and reverse gears caused by torque converter drain-back.

Installation is flexible: the kit can be installed with the transmission in the vehicle, or, if the transmission is on the bench for an overhaul, internal sealing rings are provided.
